The Taverns soul [CLOSED]

#1 Post by Philias » Mon Jan 27, 2020 7:53 pm

Long Story short:

i LOOOOOVE bard-songs. Funny limericks, raunchy poetry. Things that just... fill a Tavern and make people laugh over a good stout or ale.
And in my opinion: There's not enough out there of it! A shame truly, as this legitimately is something that should not be forgotten.
EVER.

So!

To make future Tavern-crawls more lively, and definitely spice up the RP of others with some enjoyable poetry of all sorts, This is where you can win yourself an image of your character done by myself. No limitations to race/gender etc.

Image will be: Flatcolor, fullbody, With Background. A lovely thing for yourself that you can put into your TRP 'about' tab.

What you got to do?

WRITE!

Write a bards-song, limerick, a poem, a ballad, anything you like that YOU THINK would fit into a tavern.
It can be- raunchy, heroic, heart-wrenching, sad, cheerful YOU NAME IT!

The winner will be chosen by a trusty Starlight friend.

Competition ends: 29th of February

Yes, a long time. But i want to make sure that everyone get's the chance to make an entry should they wish. And a months time sounds reasonable for that :)

There fore... grab your quills, pencils and your parchment!
It's time for some writing!

(Submit your entries below this post! Happy writing and good luck!)

EDIT:

As there are plenty of things you can write for this, feel free to make up to three entries as long as it all has a different style.
example:

One limerick,
One Ballad,
One poem.

The best entry will be put into consideration for the prize!

- I'm probably going to regret posting this now already... finding new things or better things to add but I know I have to stop at some point. Sorry for those left out... They'll be added over time.

The song is inteded to be amusing and teasing so I hope none are offended. It is also meant as in invite to add verses for the amusement of all so feel free!

The syllables in the verses go (more or less):
6

Drinking song of introducing Starlight
by Reyadh

Refrain:
In the name of the game
lose and win all the same.
Happy face, take a drink.
Lady luck give a wink.
Sing and dance,
find romance.
Roll a dice,
so is life.
In the name of the game
lose and win all the same

Have you heard, in the street
where the common folks meet
The tales of Starlight incoming?
Let me bring you the story
of the heroes and glory
just make sure the drinks keep on coming!

The lord high protector
or rather detector
of lies and deceit
where ever they meet
He will have his way
no matter your say.
So better, my friend, be careful

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…...

His daughter, a beauty
don’t mention her bootie.
She speaks with her fist.
Her tongue in a twist.
It’s said all around
she may not be sound
I dare you to call her “lady”

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

Witch and lady beware
of the scoundrel so fair.
It’s death in disguise
you’re lost in those eyes.
His body and mind
...and also behind
a well-trained and well-oiled machine

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

There’s Tickle the kitty
he thinks he’s so witty.
He smiles with his teeth
to all those beneath.
He’ll give you a push
a sneaky ambush.
You’ll end up as wet as a dog

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

A sweet ice cream vendor
is really a splendour.
Developing things
new ideas she brings.
A joy to behold
she also will scold.
She’s a very non scary defender

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

The plushie creator
a magical hater.
A wolf old as fuck
but has love with luck.
A soft wall of fur
he’ll give you a purr
if you scratch him behind the ear

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

A pretty lil’ petal
by your side will settle.
A blond crown of hair
he’s ever so fair.
Sweeter than candy,
ever so dandy.
More clumsy than any can be.

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same……..

Red flames of bad temper
though we all remember.
He offers his help
though he’s just a whelp.
Handsome and charming
it’s so alarming
how swiftly you’re under his spell

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

A real knight of the light
always clever and bright.
He’s true to his words
he’ll stop all the flirts.
A strong heart of calm,
a mind full of qualm.
Wonder what gets his blood pumping

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same……..

In the void shadows lurk
Onyx has charm and quirk.
She’s trained just to kill,
commanded she will.
With cookies and smiles
she’ll go many miles.
Just watch for the bite from sharp teeth

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

The branches of dreaming
demand your redeeming.
Scary yet caring
don’t mind her glaring.
She’s wise and daring,
nasty and tearing.
An elf of the wild, heart and soul

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

A beam of pure moonlight
only comes out at night.
Lightwielding mistress,
Elunes priestess.
Obeying command
though her mind will stand,
finding her way back to her heart.

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

So strong and so sturdy
a mind slightly dirty
As honest as few
she’ll give you her view
she’ll drink and she’ll fight
all day and at night
she’ll make sweet love to her lady

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

Iceprincess in training
will have your heart flaming
Though don’t think of love
she’ll take her glove off
unless she invites
to have fun in nights
She’ll give you a cold, cold shoulder

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

She shines bright like diamonds.
Her eyes shaped like almonds.
So skilled in her trades.
Her light never fades.
Glorious Lily
playful and silly,
she takes on the world full of grace.

In the name of the game
lose and win all the same…….

Wrote a limerick, but I have more things in the making.

A young man from Tiragarde Sound
Stuck his tool in with a pound
With a grunt and a shake
His tool did quake
And splattered his seed on the ground.

Ballad-y type thing.

There is a tavern in Gilneas City,
They call the Rising Oak,
It's been the ruin of many a poor folk,
And damn it ain't pretty.

One drunk sings his story
His black hair turning hoary;

My mother was a seamstress
She sewed my new blue shirt,
My father was a Lord
He owned a pile of dirt

The only thing a Lord needs
Is a wife and son to heir
And he was dissatisfied
No more could my mother bare

Oh mother you are wonderful
You made life worthwhile
Father and his treachery
Will turn his land vile

There is no love like a mother
She loves like no other
Alas the memory is a joke
After a few at the Rising Oak.
