Halloween is time for horror and good company, therefor I have selected - for you voting pleasure a collection of horror movies.
To be played the 27th - 20:05
Halloween - 1978 (legendary for its use of music)
This movie has been on practically every single movie-making curriculum since the 90s for its use of audio. In modern eyes, it is a slow burn, but without a shadow of a doubt one of Carpenters most lasting work (the most recent Halloween movie is also excellent)
Fifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night 1963, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to the small town of Haddonfield, Illinois to kill again.

The Thing - 1982
Another Carpenter movie, more body horror and one of my all-time favourites
A US research station, Antarctica, early-winter 1982. The base is suddenly buzzed by a helicopter from the nearby Norwegian research station. They are trying to kill a dog that has escaped from their base. After the destruction of the Norwegian chopper, the members of the US team fly to the Norwegian base, only to discover them all dead or missing.

The Alien
One of the strongest women on film must be the lead character here. Survivor, intelligent and without special kung-fu powers.
After a space merchant vessel receives an unknown transmission as a distress call, one of the crew is attacked by a mysterious life form and they soon realize that its life cycle has merely begun.

Let the right one in (Swedish version)
Vampires are perhaps the most overused subject in horror movies or movies in general. So how to make it fresh and new? Let the right one in shows masterfully (not least due to the lead child actors) that you can.
Oskar, a bullied 12-year old, dreams of revenge. He falls in love with Eli, a peculiar girl. She can't stand the sun or food and to come into a room she needs to be invited. Eli gives Oskar the strength to hit back but when he realizes that Eli needs to drink other people's blood to live he's faced with a choice. How much can love forgive? Set in the Stockholm suburb of Blackeberg in 1982.

The Devil’s Backbone (El Espinazo del Diablo)
Latin horror is something different than western horror, in latin horror it is part of the world, much like flowers and the bees, while in traditional western horror the horror element is an outside element wanting to come inn. (Made by Guillermo Del Toro and Pedro Almodovar)
During the Spanish Civil War, a boy named Carlos (Fernando Tielve) is taken by two Republicans to an orphanage because his father died fighting against Franco’s fascist troops. Casares (Federico Luppi) and Carmen (Marisca Predes) accept the boy at the orphanage and there he meets the doorman Jacinto (Eduardo Noriega) and a teacher named Conchita
