Time for something good and fun, and nothing says fun as a musical!

West Side Story (2021)
Partly I added this one, because it is fresh and new, on a story that never ends. Then besides this, our MonsterHearts 2 group is getting close to a gang fight.
An adaptation of the 1957 musical, West Side Story explores forbidden love and the rivalry between the Jets and the Sharks, two teenage street gangs of different ethnic backgrounds.

Little shop of horrors

A tender store about well, man-eating flowers and friendship.
A nerdy florist finds his chance for success and romance with the help of a giant
man-eating plant who demands to be fed.

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog
One of the best outcomes of a writes strike.
An aspiring supervillain must balance his career and his pursuit of a beautiful do-gooder.

Purple Rain
Speaking of musical legends and their greatest hits...Prince stars in a movie loosely based on his life, in which The Kid escapes a bad home life through music. It's basically a vehicle for Prince to play songs like "Purple Rain" and "When Doves Cry," and it's a lasting testament to the late legend.

Following students in their time at the High School of Performing Arts in pursuit of—you guessed it—fame, the musical became a smash hit and a cult classic. It didn't shy away from depicting the trials and tribulations of success (and trying to make it in show biz), but the upbeat songs and gorgeous dance sequences are what make this film sing, pun intended.

For the 5th of April

Start at 20:05. - As always you got two votes.

Moonfall -
This movie will not be good, in fact I expect it to be terrible bad. But well, it should be - possible, perhaps entertaining. The world is ending (again) this time it is the moon that is about to crash into earth.
“A mysterious force knocks the moon from its orbit around Earth and sends it hurtling on a collision course with life as we know it.”

Coda -
I have not seen this myself yet, but it looks interesting and won the Oscars for best movie.
As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents.
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pmfrE1YL4I - The trailer had one five second long clip that told me this movie will be good.

The worlds end

A fitting movie, now that the world opens and people can go pub crawling once more.
“Five friends who reunite in an attempt to top their epic pub crawl from twenty years earlier unwittingly become humanity's only hope for survival.”

King Richard
Sure, he is currently famous for the slap, but he is also a highly skilled actor, who got oscar for this role.
A look at how tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams became who they are after the coaching from their father Richard Williams.

For the 03.05.2022 - While I am on the road, we will still do Tuseday Movie Madness, starting 20:05

We got a few different movie delights, it is all driven by the concept "random movies Nomine packed his traveling harddrive."

One of the classical plays, originally about heroic figure who thought he would be unable to find love due to his massive nose. This is a new musical version of it, with Peter Dinklage. Costumes, musics, and such, I doubt it is a good movie, but I expect it to be a fun watch. The intro scene (in the trailer) is one of the best I have seen.

"A man ahead of his time, Cyrano de Bergerac dazzles whether with ferocious wordplay at a verbal joust or with brilliant swordplay in a duel. But, convinced that his appearance renders him unworthy of the love of a devoted friend, the luminous Roxanne, Cyrano has yet to declare his feelings for her and Roxanne has fallen in love, at first sight, with Christian."

Robin Hood men in tights
Mel Brooks is one of those true comic geniuses, a director who was perfectly aligned with his craft and time. He proved that spoofs could be clever and funny, while still maintaining a slapstick element. This is one of the best fantasy-comedies ever made.

Robin of Locksley, known as the most skilled archer of the land, has just returned to England after fighting in the Holy Crusades, where King Richard the Lionheart is also fighting. Robin finds that much of what he knew of England has gone to ruin, including his longtime family home having been taken away, all at the hands of the evil Prince John, Richard's brother who has assumed the throne in Richard's absence.

Old boy
This is one of my absolute action/revenge movies. Revenge movies is a particular genere of its own, and while in the west/american tradition we have usually seen it as bad guys kills the heros: GF, Dog, Cat, Brother and he goes on a mission of vengeance. Then came this asian movie which essentially said "we can change the formula, we can do something both darker and smarter."

Abducted on a rainy night in 1988, the obnoxious drunk, Oh Dae-Su, much to his surprise, wakes up locked in a windowless and dilapidated hotel room, for an unknown reason. There, his invisible and pitiless captors will feed him, clothe him, and sedate him to avert a desperate suicide--and as his only companion and a window to the world is the TV in his stark cell--the only thing that helps Oh Dae-Su keep going is his daily journal. Then, unexpectedly, after fifteen long years in captivity, the perplexed prisoner is deliberately released, encouraged to track down his tormentor to finally get his retribution

Movie Madness

The topic is great to fight scenes, from those bone-breaking crunches to you feel in your spine, to the choreographed ballet with inhuman grace.
There is simply to many movies to choose from, so I deliberately kept to movies without superheroes.

Kill Bill Volum 1
One of the most glorious cinematic battles of all time, plus an overall great story of vengeance. Quintin Tarantino is simply great.
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kSuas6mRpk

Evil Dead 2 -

Most fights are against scores of opponents or a fellow master of the fighting arts. However, in Evil Dead 2 - we see that sometimes the hardest fight of them all is against your own hand…
OBS - this is a horror movie, while on the comedic side - so there is gore.

Enter The Dragon.
Bruce Lee vs Chuk Norris., at the roman coliseum. I mean, is there any need to say more?

Legend of the Drunken Master
Jackie Chan is as legendary is Bruce Lee, they even tried to have him replace Bruce Lee as the hard asian, but then his comedic genius won. Some fights are still unique to this day.
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFGEZatgWrY

Raid 2
We have seen raid 1 before, raid 2 is less of a movie. However, this is one of the best well-choreographed movie scenes of all time. The design and preparation of this one fight scene took nearly a year. 6 months for the choreography alone.

Tuseday Movie Madness for the 05.07 at 20:05
Theme is Sci-Fi:

Children of Men:
In 2027, in a chaotic world in which women have somehow become infertile, a former activist agrees to help transport a miraculously pregnant woman to a sanctuary at sea.

Under the Skin
One of the best alien movies, borderline horror. A mysterious young woman seduces lonely men in the evening hours in Scotland. However, events lead her to begin a process of self-discovery.

Everything, Everywhere at once:
Looks like a brilliant little marvel project.
An aging Chinese immigrant is swept up in an insane adventure, where she alone can save the world by exploring other universes connecting with the lives she could have led

The Endless
As kids, they escaped a UFO death cult. Now, two adult brothers seek answers after an old videotape surfaces and brings them back to where they began.
